Judge denies dismissal of gun charges against Hunter Biden

A federal judge has rejected the motion to dismiss gun charges against Hunter Biden, who is also facing tax allegations in Los Angeles. The continuation of legal proceedings marks a significant overlap of law and politics.
A federal judge in Delaware has denied the dismissal of gun charges against Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, relating to his acquisition of a firearm in 2018. The allegations state that Hunter Biden falsely declared his drug use status while purchasing the weapon, which he retained for approximately 11 days. Despite his defence team’s claims of political motivation and the questioning of Special Counsel David Weiss’s appointment, both were rejected by US District Judge Maryellen Noreika.
Apart from the gun charges, Hunter Biden faces allegations in Los Angeles concerning failure to pay over $1.4 million in taxes. He has entered a not guilty plea in both cases. In dismissing the defence’s motion, Judge Noreika highlighted insufficient evidence to prove the prosecution was vindictive, noting that charges were filed under the current administration.
Legal proceedings against Hunter Biden are set to continue, with a juncture in the noteworthy convergence of legal issues, political implications, and personal conduct.
