Four men have been imprisoned after executing a drive-by shooting at a church near Euston station, remarkably wounding six, including two children, amidst a funeral.

Four men have been sentenced to prison after a drive-by shooting during a funeral at a church near Euston station in London in January 2023. The attack injured four women and two girls, ages seven and 11, with one of the younger victims sustaining a severe injury as a shotgun pellet lodged near her heart. Tyrell Lacroix, Alrico Nelson-Martin, Jordan Walters, and Jashy Perch were found guilty of conspiracy to cause serious bodily harm and received sentences ranging from 13 to 26 years. The incident, involving a sawn-off shotgun, was reportedly related to a gang feud.

The shooting took place at a memorial service for Sara Sanchez and her mother, Fresia Calderon, who both died in 2022. The court noted that the attack was premeditated and designed to maximize harm. Victims’ testimonies highlighted the severe physical and emotional toll of the incident, with one child expressing confusion and distress over being a target.

Detective Inspector Darren Jones underscored the seriousness of the crime and the extensive police effort to apprehend those responsible, emphasizing the threat posed by the offenders to public safety. The sentences handed down reflect the calculated nature of the crime and its profound impact on the community and the victims.
