Duchess Sophie condemns war crimes in Ukraine visit, royal family continues public engagements

During her trip to Ukraine, Duchess Sophie spoke out against the use of sexual violence in conflicts and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Meanwhile, King Charles and other royal members affirm their diplomatic and supportive roles amidst ongoing global engagements.
Duchess Sophie visited Ukraine and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska, condemning the use of sexual violence in war. Following her visit, she attended the Windsor Horse Show, appearing in a tweed blazer and navy dress. The Duchess has been active in campaigning against sexual violence globally, including in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, and Colombia. During her Ukraine trip, she also delivered a speech on the importance of supporting victims of such violence.
King Charles has resumed his public duties after a cancer diagnosis and plans to visit Samoa, Australia, and New Zealand. His involvement and the royal family’s support for Ukraine continue, highlighted by Prince William’s visit to the Polish/Ukrainian border and Queen Camilla hosting Olena Zelenska at Clarence House.
In related news, Prince Andrew was seen horse-riding in Windsor Great Park. Royal biographer Andrew Lownie suggested this might signal Andrew’s intention to return to public roles despite past controversies, including his ties with Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew, who has served as a naval officer and trade envoy, is reportedly seeking to redefine his public presence akin to the Duke of Windsor.
