A 61-year-old man, Ryszard Jagielowicz, was found dead at a recreational ground in Littlemore, Oxford, on May 3, 2023. Jagielowicz, who lived on Acacia Avenue in Oxford, was identified using photographic ID. His death was confirmed by a paramedic at 5:54 PM. An inquest opening on May 16 at Oxford Coroner’s Court established that the cause of death was hanging. A full inquest is scheduled for August 27, 2023.
Cromer Incident
Peggy Gardner, a 90-year-old woman, passed away on May 12, 2023, after suffering a fall in her greenhouse in Overstrand, near Cromer. Gardner had fallen on May 7 while planting lettuce seeds and was assisted by a nurse who arranged for an ambulance. Despite treatment at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, she declined rapidly. An inquest at Norfolk Coroner’s Court concluded Gardner’s death was accidental. Gardner, a retired school cook, lived alone since her husband’s death three years prior and was active despite her physical limitations.
