The Israeli military acknowledged a breach of protocol involving the treatment of a wounded Palestinian man during a raid in Jenin, a city in the West Bank. Captured on video and widely shared on social media, the footage showed the man, Mujahed Azmi, being strapped to the bonnet of a military jeep after being injured in an exchange of fire. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the raid aimed to apprehend wanted individuals, and the injured suspect was eventually transferred to the Red Crescent for medical treatment. The IDF stated that the incident would be investigated.

Separately, at least two Israeli airstrikes targeted Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip, reportedly resulting in numerous casualties. Rescue workers and residents indicated over 30 people were killed, with 50 more injured in strikes across the Tuffah, Shujaiyya, and Shati neighborhoods. The Israeli military stated the strikes were aimed at “Hamas military infrastructure,” amid ongoing efforts to target senior Hamas figures.

Recent violence has intensified conflicts in the region, with a reported surge since Hamas’s attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. The UN recorded at least 480 Palestinian deaths and 10 Israeli deaths in the West Bank during this period.
