Jerry Jeudy to join Cleveland Browns in trade from Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are close to finalising a trade that will see wide receiver Jerry Jeudy move to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for two draft picks, marking a significant shift in both teams’ rosters.

The Denver Broncos are finalizing a trade that will send wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns. In return, the Broncos will receive two draft picks. This transaction, which is expected to be completed next week, will relieve the Broncos of $13 million in cash and salary cap obligations. Jeudy, the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Broncos, is moving teams in a bid for a fresh start after experiencing a mix of achievements and challenges in Denver, primarily due to inconsistent quarterback performances.

The Browns are acquiring Jeudy to bolster their receiving lineup alongside their primary receiver, Amari Cooper, providing quarterback Deshaun Watson with an additional deep threat target. This move is part of Cleveland’s strategy to improve their offense and solidify their competitor status in the league.

For Denver, Jeudy’s trade is another step in their larger restructuring plan, which has already freed up approximately $50 million in cap space through various personnel changes, including releasing quarterback Russell Wilson and All-Pro safety Justin Simmons.

By acquiring Jeudy, the Browns aim to enhance their playmaking capabilities and deepen their offensive threat, facilitating a stronger playoff push in the next NFL season.
