Luke Littler to miss Nordic Darts Masters due to family commitments

17-year-old darts prodigy Luke Littler will not compete in the upcoming Nordic Darts Masters, making way for Dimitri Van den Bergh, as he prioritises family commitments over a rigorous sporting schedule.

Luke Littler, a 17-year-old darts sensation known for his three titles and a final appearance at the World Championship, will not be competing in the Nordic Darts Masters in June due to family commitments, the Professional Darts Corporation has announced. Although Littler has earned a spot in the Premier League owing to his performance at Alexandra Palace, his schedule which includes a debut at the US Darts Masters in May, makes it impossible for him to participate in the event in Copenhagen. Belgian player Dimitri Van den Bergh will replace Littler in the tournament.

Despite this temporary pause in his otherwise rapidly advancing career, Littler has shown considerable promise as a future force in professional darts. Opting to focus on family commitments at this time highlights his dedication to balancing both his personal life and his professional aspirations.

In related news, Luke Humphries has secured his third consecutive win at the Premier League Darts in Dublin, defeating Michael Smith with a score of 6-2 in the final and further extending his lead in the league. The victory in Dublin marks Humphries’ third win of the season, coming after his successes in Brighton and Nottingham. Meanwhile, another notable performance came from Gerwyn Price, who defeated Michael van Gerwen 6-5, breaking a streak of quarter-final exits.

As the Premier League Darts moves on to Belfast for its ninth night, the competition continues to promise high stakes and intense rivalry among the top darts players.
