Laurence Fox under investigation for alleged upskirting post involving TV presenter

British actor Laurence Fox is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police after allegedly posting an image violating the UK’s upskirting law, which shows TV presenter Narinder Kaur and has sparked significant legal and public backlash.

The Metropolitan Police are investigating British actor Laurence Fox after he posted an image on social media that allegedly violates the UK’s upskirting law, which became an offense in 2019. The image depicted TV presenter Narinder Kaur, who expressed she was “unimaginably mortified” by the post, highlighting that it involved an “invasion of her privacy.” The incident has become the subject of a legal probe, as sharing such images without consent can lead to imprisonment and having to register as a sex offender.

Narinder Kaur, known for her appearances on television shows such as “Good Morning Britain” and “Big Brother,” stated that the incident left her feeling “embarrassed and upset.” After the image was posted and subsequently deleted, Fox defended his actions by suggesting Kaur had previously mocked another commentator. However, this defense has not prevented the ongoing police investigation.

This legal scrutiny comes shortly after Fox was mandated to pay £180,000 in damages for defamatory remarks made online and his termination from GB News for making offensive comments about a journalist. The incident and the investigation surrounding Fox underline the continuing issues of online harassment and the responsibilities of those in the public eye.
