The tribute occurred during Arsenal’s match against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, where Daniel’s image was displayed on the big screens, and a minute of applause resonated in the 14th minute in his honour.
Daniel Anjorin, from Hainault, was fatally stabbed on his way to school. Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, 36, has been charged with his murder. The incident also resulted in the injury of four other individuals, including two police officers.
In the aftermath, the community has shown significant support, with over £120,000 raised through a fundraiser to aid Daniel’s family. At the scene of the attack, tributes including flowers, Arsenal FC memorabilia, notes, and a painting of Daniel have been accumulated, showcasing the community’s solidarity.
Additionally, Daniel’s school, Bancroft’s School, remembered him as a “true scholar” and a kind individual. The tragic event has impacted the local community deeply, rallying both residents and Arsenal Football fans in support and remembrance of the young victim.
