Russian forces carried out multiple attacks on the Sumy region of Ukraine, resulting in 39 explosions overnight and in the early morning, according to a report from the Sumy Regional Military Administration (RMA) on Saturday.

The affected areas included four communities—Khotyn, Yunakovskaya, Belopolskaya, and Esmanskaya. The attacks were varied, involving the use of drones, artillery, and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Specific details of the attacks are as follows:
– Belopolskaya community experienced two explosions due to FPV drones.
– Yunakovskaya community faced six artillery shells.
– Esman community was subjected to 24 artillery explosions and one FPV drone strike.
– Khotyn community recorded six explosions from MLRS.

In total, the Sumy region suffered 82 explosions from 21 separate attacks.

In a larger offensive, Russia launched an aerial and ground assault on critical infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine using rockets, missiles, and attack drones. The offensive employed 16 rockets, 10 winged missiles, and 13 drones, according to Lieutenant General Nikola Oleschuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force. The attack took place in the early hours of June 22, 2024.
