From July 7, 2024, under the EU’s General Safety Rule (GSR), new regulations on Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) will require all new cars sold within the EU and Northern Ireland to be fitted with speed limiters. However, these rules do not apply to Great Britain. A DfT spokesperson emphasized the ongoing research to enhance safety and reduce emissions using the latest technology.
